The Swiss EV: Protoscar Lampo 2

Protoscar Lampo 2

After a long period of having been awaited, finally, the Lampo 2 has come to the world to show off its peppery green engine. The all-electric car is based on General Motor’s Kappa platform. This is the same basis for the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky and, in Europe, the Opel GT but what is most outstanding for the eco-friendly Swiss is its power.

The Lampo 2 is an AWD vehicle, featuring a powertrain consisting of twin electric motors, one up front, and one in back. There’s a large-capacity lithium ion battery pack and solar cells on the back deck to help range. The total power of the twin motors is a very impressive 408 horsepower which gives 472 pound-feet of torque. All this power can take the  3,483-pounds car from 0 to 60 in just 5 seconds and can reach 124 mph. Protoscar also promises a fast charger that offers up 100 kilometers of range after a 10 minute charge via an off-board DC rapid charger interface.

Good looks, zero emissions and power. Seems to me this will be a hit!
