Cars come and cars go. Models, I mean. Car manufacturers know that sticking to a concept for a long while is not a good idea, even if it sells well or is very appreciated. Alfa Romeo follows the trend and planned three new concept cars to replace the 159 sedan and who else could they have chosen for this challanging job if not the talents of the three major Turin design houses, Stile Bertone, Pininfarina and Italdesign Giugiaro. Each were assigned the task of developing one of three different concepts depicting the 159 replacement: a coupe, a spider convertible and a regular four-door sedan.
The spider convertible concept was assigned to Pininfarina – as expected. The design firm created it as a strict two-seater that looks very much like past Alfa Romeo spiders.
All we have for now is a teaser sketch but just wait for the official reveal from Geneva on March 2!
